Last updated: April 15, 2026

Octalect is a daily quiz app for iOS, published by Jesse Russell. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.

Summary

Octalect does not collect personal information. The app has no user accounts, no third-party analytics, and no advertising SDKs. Quiz progress and preferences are stored on your device.

Information we don't collect

  • No name, email address, or other personal identifiers
  • No usage analytics or telemetry sent to our servers
  • No advertising identifiers
  • No location data

Information stored on your device

Octalect stores the following locally on your device and does not transmit it to us:

  • Your quiz history, scores, streaks, and rank
  • Your preferences, including notification settings and subscription state

This information is deleted when you delete the app.

Subscriptions

If you purchase a subscription, that transaction is processed by Apple via the App Store. We do not receive your payment details. We receive anonymous subscription status through Apple's StoreKit framework so the app can unlock paid features.

You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions.

Push notifications

Notifications are optional. If you enable them, the app uses Apple Push Notification service to deliver reminders. We do not send marketing notifications and we do not track notification delivery.

Children's privacy

Octalect is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
